Spurs chairman Daniel Levy lashes out at supporters after being chastised for his “unnecessary” remarks.

Bryan King called Daniel Levy’s remarks “unnecessary” after the Tottenham chairman said he doesn’t take fan feedback seriously.

The former Spurs scout thinks the chairman need to attempt answering the criticism he gets rather than just dismissing it. At a supporters’ meeting on Monday, September 23, at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Levy covered a wide range of subjects.

In response to a question concerning the abuse he gets from his fans, the 62-year-old said, “I just ignore it because I have a very thick skin.” Encourages me to pursue greater achievement (via PaulHitsheet on X, September 23).

Speaking only to Tottenham News, King disagrees that this is the appropriate course of action. “I can understand why supporters would have taken those comments the wrong way,” King said.

“Those comments were unnecessary. When you are the chairman of a big football club, you’re going to get criticised. If things go wrong, it is your head on the line. Therefore, Levy will get the backlash as well as the manager because he has employed that manager,”

“He is the frontman for the football club. To say that he ignores the criticism, I can understand that. However, he should also be trying to respond to that criticism.”

It’s probable that Daniel Levy infuriated fans at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

This statement has been written before, and it probably won’t be the last because Levy’s latest remarks have undoubtedly offended some Tottenham supporters.

While criticism may occasionally go too far—as seen by the abuse Brennan Johnson has lately endured—it can also frequently be appropriate and well-placed.

It does not, then, look good for a football club’s chairman to just say that he disregards fan concerns.

Levy has occasionally demonstrated that he can act morally, so maybe he would be more well-liked in North London if he paid attention and occasionally answered.

Another piece of Tottenham news is that in January, a “special” player may be brought back from loan.
