Up to the January transfer window, Leeds United’s number 10 spot will be closely watched.
There, Brenden Aaronson has started the previous four games and performed admirably. Daniel Farke was obviously frustrated that Leeds was unable to get one in, too.
After Aaronson’s pass against Burnley, Farke really made a comparison between Aaronson and Zinedine Zidane. However, it is difficult to argue against Leeds’ absence of a guy in midfield who can play the game-winning ball.
Sheffield United’s Gustavo Hamer was a key target; Leeds’ £13 million offer was turned down. Paul Warne, the manager of Derby County, oddly claims that he believed Hamer was going to join Leeds.
Hamer would have been the missing component in this Leeds team, having scored four goals and provided one assist in his first six games.
After a poor start for Leeds, Isaac Schmidt admits shockingly to his situation.
If Aaronson were to ever miss time due to injury, it will be intriguing to see who Farke would choose to start at number 10. Joel Piroe began his career at West Brom, but he was a complete waste of time. It’s preferable for him to sit.
Wilfried Gnonto is the most likely candidate because he likes to stray indoors. But he doesn’t have much central club experience.
Isaac Schmidt, the latest signing, described himself as a surprise possibility in an interview with Leeds Live. Since signing, Schmidt has only played a small number of minutes, but supporters are eager to see him play.
Although Schmidt was signed as a full-back cover, he stated in his initial interview with Leeds that he could play wherever. He now says he has experience in position number 10.
“I’ve played so many positions I can’t even tell what I like,” he remarked. Before I started playing adult games, I used to play left wing, right wing, striker, and occasionally number 10.
I had never before played defense until I was on the first team. Sometimes, as a young player, you have to play positions that you can’t play. I occasionally continued to play as a winger and striker in games.
Schmidt’s career appearances broken down by position upon entrance to Leeds.
Schmidt was correct when he indicated he had experience in most roles, even if he is still relatively young.
They make for intriguing reading, according to transfermarkt. Should Leeds encounter an injury issue in the future, his adaptability may be quite important.
